THE GOLDEN AGE OF RADIO THEATER: Theater of
the Imagination
Relive
those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear!
Stretch
your imagination infinitely beyond the 24” silver screen. Create and
re-create those great old comedies and dramas. Everybody who wants one
is guaranteed a part! Or do live Sound Effects, Music, Narration, Announcing,
Floor Management, etc.... Everybody has a good time! No
memorizing lines!
From
out of the past comes the fiery hoof beats…
And those hoof beats of sound and the imagination (remember when
our minds actually had to do some work while we
were being entertained?!) are the precursors of virtually every
current TV show.
We’ll cover:
The
History of Radio Theater… with example recordings and
scripts of ‘sound-stories’
Current Productions… with scripts and a
live performance in the class by professional actors, sound effects
and recording artists.
Practice… Learn and use
simple, basic acting and reading skills with the instructor choosing
and directing scripts appropriate to the class members. Remember,
you can take roles, or do narration, sound effects, music,
recording, etc., as needed and desired. You may remember
Abbott and Costello, The Bickersons, The Shadow, George Burns and
Gracie Allen, Casablanca, The
Tell-Tale Heart, Fibber McGee and Molly, etc., etc. Now,
recreate them!
Most of all...Performance…
of the resultant Old Time Radio Theater scripts for the public.
Learn to communicate powerfully, develop the
skills needed to go on the stardom on radio or TV, or just have fun
improving your speaking, reading and public appearance skills.
Remember, no memorizing lines!
